Kaledo Print Designs

These woven designs were created in Kaledo Weave as a series of stripe and plaid variations. I focused on keeping the weave structure consistent while experimenting with color, contrast, and scale to create different moods across the collection. Each textile was designed with specific garments in mind, so the patterns don’t just sit on the surface, they help shape how each piece looks and feels when worn.

Print Design
The print designs in this collection focus on soft, organic motifs paired with a structured repeat, creating a balance between fluidity and control. Floral and botanical elements are simplified into clean, graphic shapes, allowing the color to take the lead while still maintaining recognizable forms. The palette stays cohesive across variations, using warm pinks, soft greens, and subtle neutrals to create a fresh, approachable feel. The repeat is carefully considered to ensure even distribution and visual rhythm, allowing the design to flow seamlessly across the surface without feeling too dense or too sparse.

Applied to Garments
When applied to garments, the prints bring a softer, more expressive layer to the collection, contrasting with the structure of the silhouettes. The placement of the motifs works with the shape of the garment, enhancing movement and drawing attention to key areas without overwhelming the design. The scale of the print allows it to read clearly from a distance while still offering detail up close, making it effective across multiple garment types. Overall, the printed fabrics add visual interest and dimension, helping to tie the collection together while introducing a more playful and feminine element.

Print design details

The print swatches in this slideshow highlight the range and versatility of the collection’s surface designs, showcasing variations in color, scale, and repeat. Each swatch is developed to function both as a standalone visual and as part of a larger system, allowing for flexibility across different garment types. The repetition of motifs creates rhythm and consistency, while shifts in colorways introduce new moods and energy. Viewing the prints in swatch form allows for a closer look at detail, balance, and overall composition before they are applied to finished garments.
